During her address on AIT Democracy Today, Anene emphasised how important it is that Governor Fubara adhere to the guidelines outlined in the resolution. He expressed concern that individuals organising protests against the agreed-upon eight-point conflict resolution agenda are diverting the governor’s attention.

Anene emphasised the need for the governor to honour the freely signed agreement and urged that Governor Fubara convene a press conference to address the current state of affairs. The activist urged a solution to the problem and opposed any actions that might make the peace accord less effective.

Anene also begged Fubara to hold a press conference to discuss the situation as it stands right now.

“Why is Governor Fubara being distracted by the Rivers people? He should follow the agreement if he willingly signs it,” he said. Those organising protests against the resolution Fubara signed and enticing others to join them are causing him to become sidetracked. I expect the governor to give a public speech to the state.”
