Liverpool aren’t the only ones keen on the 17-year-old midfielder, with Manchester City also in the race to sign the teenager from Barcelona, as reported by the Mirror.

Whilst Guardiola didn’t give anything away regarding interest in Gavi, the former Barcelona boss did praise the talents in the player’s boots and compared him to Pedri and Ansu Fati, as quoted by the Mirror.
“He is fantastic, just like Ansu Fati or Pedri,” said Guardiola. “It shows that there is a lot of future and very good work in the youth system there.”
GAVI SHOULD STAY AT BARCELONA
It has been well-documented that Barcelona are in a financial mess, so the last thing they want to be doing is selling assests.

But, at the end of the day, if they can bring in players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in recent times.
Then, they can surely prioritise Gavi, who as Barca’s recent history has proven, if you back the academy talent, then they will thrive beyond expectation.
Plus, with Spain star, Pedri, also working his magic out on the Nou Camp pitch, he is another player the La Liga club need to keep if they want to see that light in the future.
