Lionel Messi’s first goal came from the penalty spot within the opening eight minutes of the game. And before the end of the first half, he added a second goal. Upon the resumption of the second half, Lionel Messi completed his hat trick in the 47th minute just two minutes after the restart.

The Argentine did not stop there. He added a fourth and fifth in the 71st and 76th minute of the game.

According to BBC Sports, it is the first time the 34-year-old has scored five in a game for his country. In fact, he has only ever achieved the feat once before in his career, in a 7-1 win for Barcelona over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League in 2012.
