Girona will be hoping to capitalise on the fact that Barcelona are currently in the middle of a tough run of fixtures and are looking to take points away from their rivals.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are currently in 1st place in the standings with 44 points from 18 matches. They are in good form, having won four of their last five La Liga matches, and will be looking to extend their lead over 2nd-place Real Madrid.

In terms of team news, Girona will be without the services of Santiago Bueno, who is suspended due to a red card he picked up in their previous match. Barcelona, meanwhile, are without the services of Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski.
