Liverpool edged out the Blues during a penalty shootout to win the competition for the first time under the German manager.

The Reds and Chelsea played out a 0-0 draw over the course of two hours at Wembley.

But Diaz was far and away the best player on the pitch and once he went off, the Anfield outfit’s attack certainly became a little more blunt.

The 25-year-old Colombia international only joined Liverpool from Porto in January and Klopp is on record as saying that naturally, he has bonded most with the Spanish-speaking contingent – including goalkeeper Adrian.

With Diaz’s English still being a little rusty, he is limited in how he converses with his gaffer.

However, Klopp has revealed that both of them expressed their jubilation with one another nevertheless despite the obvious communication problems.

He told Liverpool’s official website after the game: “It’s so funny, so we hug each other after the game and just shout vamos and whatever, the few words I know in a similar language. It’s so funny.”

Star in the making

HITC Sport wrote after the game about how Diaz made his first mistake as a Liverpool player during the post-match ceremony.

The South American held the FA Cup title aloft, not realising that the silverware has a lid which, unfortunately, fell off and hit the deck when it was in Diaz’s care.

Apart from that innocent error, Diaz genuinely hasn’t put a foot wrong in English football.

He is rapidly establishing himself as one of Liverpool’s best players, a star in the making, even if he cannot fully communicate with his teammates – or manager – just yet.
