Agbakoba advocated for a proactive approach to address fundamental questions about Nigeria’s unity and constitution, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive examination of these issues.

While referencing to the inquiries made by the late Bola Ige about the desire for unity, Agbakoba emphasized that unity should be a matter of choice, not compulsion. He questioned how this unity could be achieved and noted the lack of adequate exploration of these essential questions over the past 23 years, particularly concerning the constitution.

Agbakoba recalled Bola Ige’s two questions: whether Nigeria wants to be one, and if so, how. He emphasized that these critical questions remain unanswered and informed President Akpabio of the Senate that it has taken 23 years to address constitutional issues. He urged both President Akpabio and President Tinubu to collaboratively resolve Nigeria’s constitutional questions.

Agbakoba proposed inviting the Fulanis, whom he identified as the original owners of Nigeria before amalgamation, to contribute to the constitutional resolution.

He stressed that a weak foundation, symbolized by an unresolved constitution, hampers progress, and building on a solid foundation is crucial for the political development of President Tinubu’s government.
