Earlier this summer, Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Ousmane Dembele whose contract was bound to expire at Barcelona but, despite all their efforts to acquire his services, Barcelona were able to convince the Frenchman to stay back despite their financial woes.
As if that was not enough, Barcelona hijacked Chelsea’s deal for Brazilian winger Raphinha. The Blues had already agreed a deal with Leeds United until Barcelona hijacked the deal and ended up signing the player.
Andreas Christensen who was expected to sign a new contract at Chelsea refused despite efforts by the club to keep him back. The Danish International ended up signing for Barcelona as a free agent.
The last but not the least is the transfer saga of Jules Kounde. Just like in the case of Raphinha, Chelsea had already struck a deal with Sevilla but, Barçelona yet again hijacked the deal, with the defender now set for a medical before puting pen to paper at Barcelona in no distant time.
