Head of Public Service Chief of Staff Felix Koskei said that Kuria will add expertise to the team, bolstering implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) Plan, which seeks to lower the cost of living and expand the tax base, among other roles.

CEA, which is chaired by economist David Ndii, is tasked with helping an economic recovery following the effects of Covid-19, prolonged drought, and the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

“TO BOLSTER implementation of the BETA Plan by the Broad Based Government, the Head of State and Government has caused the appointment of HON. MOSES KIARIE KURIA, HSC as a Senior Advisor in his Council of Economic Advisors,” Koskei announced.

The re-appointment is a lifesaver for Kuria, who was among the CSs shown the door by the Head State following weeks of deadly demonstrations in opposition to the 2024 Finance Bill.

Kuria, who never made it back to the recently picked cabinets by President Ruto, saw his former colleagues, such as Kipchumba Murkomen (Sports) and Davis Chirchir (Roads and Transport), among others, make it back to the CS posts.

Koskei further picked former ICT CS Eliud Owalo as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Performance & Delivery Docket.

“This ministerial level appointment will among other roles, be responsible for effective and efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation of priority projects and initiatives of the 5th administration in line with the BETA Plan.
