According to reports on Vanguard, the brazen abduction occurred at the front gate of Ohiri’s compound in Orodo, Mbaitoli Council Area of Imo state, around 8:30 am.
According to an eyewitness account, Ohiri and his brother, identified as Solomon Ohiri, a United States-based businessman, had set out in their car for a festive season visit to friends.
Upon their return, as they engaged in a final discussion at the compound, a highlander vehicle filled with armed gunmen ambushed them.
In a swift and violent operation, the gunmen fired shots indiscriminately, forcibly seized both individuals, and sped away in the direction of the Njaba to Orlu road.
Although one eyewitness claimed that Solomon Ohiri managed to struggle and escape from the kidnappers, the circumstances surrounding his escape remain unclear.
