Another player who came quite close was former Monaco, Manchester United and Juventus defender Patrice Evra, having played five UCL finals with the three different clubs mentioned above. However, he won only one of them- the 2008 UCL final against Chelsea and lost the other four.

In 2004, he was a part of the Monaco squad that lost 3-0 to Jose Mourinho’s FC Porto in the UCL final.

In 2009 and 2011, he lost the UCL final with Manchester United to Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona on both occasions.

Then in 2015, he lost the UCL final with Juventus to Luis Enrique’s Barcelona.
