The sweetest fruits

However, we all know that you need to eat fruit to be healthy. Still, some fruits have a low fiber content and are high in sugar, which is not ideal! Such fruits are digested very quickly and cause spikes in insulin and blood sugar, so you’ll likely want to snack again shortly afterwards and might even feel a little tired.

We’re not at all suggesting you totally eliminate these fruits, but it’s best to eat them in moderation. If you can, try to have them with other, fiber-rich fruits, such as blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrant, pears or blackberries. You can also mix them with foods that are less sweet, such as nuts, almonds or certain vegetables.

Here are the five sweetest fruits:

Lychees
Mangoes
Bananas
Figs
Grapes

On average, these fruits have a higher sugar content than other fruits—more than 15 g of sugar and less than 2 g of fiber per 100g. Needless to say, they don’t make a very balanced snack…
What about dried fruit?

Dried fruits are dehydrated fruits that are good for your health and have the added advantage of not perishing as fast as their fresh counterparts. They’re more calorie-dense than fresh fruit, but are rich in fiber and have no cholesterol, which is great!

However, their sugar content is the same as that of fresh fruit. So you can keep eating dried fruit, but in small amounts.
