5. Memphis Depay (Barcelona)

In the last two days of the transfer window, Memphis Depay’s future may be decided, along with other Barcelona players. Following the additions of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, the Dutchman has slipped down the rank.

Depay was on the approach of joining Juventus, but a deal fell through at the last minute. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bianconeri dropped out of the agreement after Adrien Rabiot’s prospective transfer to Manchester United fell through.

Depay is open to returning to Manchester United, according to transfer analyst Dean Jones (via GiveMeSport). If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the team before the transfer window closes, the Red Devils might make a play for the Dutchman

4. Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea)

Before the transfer window closes, Hakim Ziyech might return to Ajax, his previous club. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Ziyech is about to rejoin the Dutch team. There are inconsistent reports regarding how close the deal is to being completed.

Ziyech has had challenges at Chelsea and is unlikely to achieve the levels that were predicted of him last season. Since Antony joined Manchester United, Ajax is looking to add players to their roster as he tries to get consistent playing time.

In forty-four appearances across all tournaments, the international player from Morocco was only able to contribute six assists and eight goals. The Eredivisie champions’ supporters are optimistic that Ziyech would return to the team because he was regarded as a playmaker of the top standard during his time at Ajax.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Barcelona)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems to be in a transfer holding pattern. The Gabon international is attempting to join Chelsea. Barcelona acquired Aubameyang during the January 2022 transfer window. In his first half-season with the team, he performed admirably for the Catalans.

In 23 appearances for Barca in all competitions during the 2021–22 season, Aubameyang contributed one assist and thirteen goals. However, since Lewandowski from Bayern Munich joined the team, the former Arsenal striker has dropped down the standings.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea wants to sign him but has not fully agreed on the terms of the transfer with Barcelona. Today (Wednesday), the two parties will get together once more in an effort to reach an agreement

2. Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona)

All summer long, Frenkie de Jong has been connected to a departure. Despite widespread rumors to the sort, the Dutchman appears to want to remain at the Camp Nou despite the Catalans’ wish to transfer him. For the signing of the midfielder, Manchester United and Barcelona have reached an agreement for €85 million.

De Jong, though, has until to this point maintained his resolve to continue playing for Barcelona. Alu Dursun, the agent for De Jong, and United’s representatives are still in communication, according to writer Rudy Galetti (via The Express). Furthermore, it is asserted that De Jong’s destiny may be decided in the next hours.

The main justification given for De Jong’s unwillingness to sign with Old Trafford is the club’s absence of Champions League play.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)

In quest of regular game time, Cristiano Ronaldo seems eager to depart from Manchester United.

Ronaldo is hopeful Chelsea to take him on point day, according to Corriere dello Sport (via soccer.london). If the Blues are unsuccessful in their attempts to recruit Aubameyang from Barcelona, it is possible that they will speak with the 37-year-old.
