This club has acquired eleven new footballers since the beginning of the 2022 Summer Transfer Window. Which club is it?

The first EPL side to acquire the 11 new players in the current transfer window is Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees just got promoted to the English first tier and want to cement their place in the English Premiership. The most expensive acquisition by the club is Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Nigerian striker was purchased from Union Berlin (Germany) for a fee of €20.50m with effect from July 1, 2022. The goal poacher is expected to use his pace to score goals for the club in the 2022/23 season.

Five of the new players in the club are defenders. They include Neco Williams (right-back), Giulian Biancone (right-back), Moussa Niakhaté (centre-back), Omar Richards (left-back) and Harry Toffolo (left-back). Williams was in the payroll of Liverpool until July 10, 2022 when he signed for Forest.

The right footer has the ability to switch into midfield when need be. This makes him a utility purchase. His previous experience in the English top flight will certainly help the course of the club.

In addition to defenders, Nottingham Forest also secured the services of three midfielders. The most high profile among the trio is Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.

Interestingly, the veteran attacking midfielder came into the club as a free agent. Brandon Aguilera in the same position has also been acquired from LD Alajuelense (a Costa Rican side). The only central midfielder in the mix (Lewis O’Brien) was purchased from Huddersfield an English second tier club.

Nottingham Forest did not leave the goalkeeping department to chance. The club has bought two good goalies for the new season. This include Wayne Hennessey who came in as a free agent from Burnley and Dean Henderson who is on loan from Manchester United.

The club is obviously getting set to compete favourably in the EPL as the season sets in.
