A win for Arsenal against their neighbours and rival, Tottenham, opened the business of the day. It then continued with Chelsea snatching three points from Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park with a late match winning goal from Gallagher.
Liverpool continued their poor run of games as they had to settle for a point against Brighton at the Anfield Stadium in a game which ended in a 3-3 draw. Newcastle maintain their impressive run of games as they defeated Fulham 1-4 away from home.
Bournemouth had to settle for a point against Brentford in a game which ended in a goalless draw. Everton were fortunate to secure a win against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium with the game ending 1-2. West Ham got back into winning ways as they beat Wolves 2-0 at the London Stadium.
