Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes remain alive after a 2-1 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s. The Reds got off to a poor start as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men took a surprise lead thanks to a spectacular strike from Nathan Redmond.

However, Takumi Minamino responded 14 minutes later with a blast, bringing the game level at halftime. Liverpool came out strong in the second half, and Joel Matip scored in the 67th minute to secure the three points.

The Reds have closed the gap on Manchester City to one point at the top of the table and will now rely on former captain Steven Gerrard and his Aston Villa team to do them a favor against Manchester City in the final game of the season in order to secure the Premier League title.
