According to reports, his recent invitation by the EFCC is due to the fact that the anti-graft agency had discovered that the medical report he sent to the court explaining his absence was fake and did not originate from any known hospital.

The main issue now is that FFK has used this same method to evade court proceedings 5 times since 2018.

During the arguments in court last month, the EFCC lawyer had accused FFK of always presenting the letter during proceedings to cover for his absence.

This was corroborated by the court as it was revealed that FFK had excused himself from court proceedings 5 good times in the past.

The first time was on the 1st of February 2018, the second time was on the 30th of May 2019, then the 24th of November 2020.

The fourth time was on the 21st of March 2021 and the fifth time was the 9th of October 2021.

FFK was then fined a cost of N200,000 due to his failure to appear before the court for his re-arraignment.

By the time of this report, the money laundering case against chief Femi Fani-Kayode has been adjourned more than 5 times.
