Apart from the fact that the competition is regularly graced with the appearances of many world-famous footballers, it is also highly regarded among footballers, who regard winning it as a major accomplishment in their careers.

However, looking at some of the best and most talented footballers in European football, it’s odd that some of them didn’t or haven’t scored in this tournament.

Despite his heroic status as a great footballer from Portugal, the winger did not manage to bag any goal in the World Cup till he retired. He is known for his incredible performances in 2002 and 2006 World Cup. The Czech Republic international is known for his performances during his days at Juventus.

Despite his national team side’s brilliant start to life in 2006 World Cup beating United States of America 3-0 in their opening match, their adventure in the year’s edition was short-lived by injuries to key players.

Though goal line technology showed the ball went past the goal line, the referee failed to award it.The Bayern Munich goal poacher’s last appearance in the World Cup came in 2018, with him playing in all the three matches for Poland, as his side failed to make it through to the Round of 16 phase.

He hasn’t had a goal record in the competition yet. The Welshman hasn’t had any major World Cup appearance and his first goal in the tournament will be anticipated in the coming Qatar 2022 World Cup. The AC Milan striker has had appearances in the tournament, as he played for Sweden in 2002 and 2006 editions.

But, despite his brilliant status as a forward player, he hasn’t had any goal in World Cup.
