After giving up on the pursuit of Juventus & France Midfielder, Adrien Rabiot owing to his unreasonable demands for a hefty signing bonus and salary of more than €7 million (£5.8 million) per year the 20-time English Champions have now turn their focus to Real Madrid’s Casemiro.
Despite reaching an agreement on €85 million fee with Spanish giants, Barcelona back in July, the Manchester based outfit have struggled to sign any of their top targets this summer with Netherlands international, Frenkie de Jong still unconvinced to switch sides.
Howewer, the Premier League heavyweights were also unable to match Ajax asking price for Brazil international, Antony who was reportedly on the Dutch tactician’s shortlist of targets this summer.
Technical director, John Murtough who is charge of transfer dealings at the club, is reportedly now working on a deal to sign Five-time Champions League winner, Casemiro who is under contract with Los Blancos until 2025.
Adrien Rabiot could end up staying with the Old Lady after all, according to Romano’s most recent podcast with CaughtOffside.
The Frenchman is not currently in contact with any teams; his only negotiation was with Erik Ten Hag’s United, which has since been terminated due to his high pay demands (about €7 million net per season plus a significant signing bonus).
“Real Madrid’s Casemiro is a dream target but it is going to be very difficult because Real Madrid Boss, Ancelotti would love to have him in his team, while Seagulls Midfielder, Moises Caicedo has been discussed internally as a possible alternative.” Romano said.
