Following the sack of Thomas Tuchel after the Lost to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday last week, Chelsea cannot afford to lose another game in the UEFA Champions League because it will put them in a difficult corner. In this article, we shall be taking a look at the expected Chelsea’s starting lineup for the match against Salzburg.
Edouard Mendy is still expected to be in goal for Chelsea against Salzburg. Despite not having good form presently, he is still a better goalkeeper than Kepa Arrizabalaga and the fans expect to see him.
In the defense, Chelsea is expected to have the trio of Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly as the center backs.
From every indication, Chelsea are likely to play a 3 5 2 formation because it is Graham Potter’s favorite football formation. In the midfield, Chelsea are expected to have Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Mateo Kovacic and Dennis Zakaria. Mason Mount is to play in the midfield but right behind the strikers.
The two new signings, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, are expected in the attack for Chelsea. I believe this will be the best lineup for Chelsea against Salzburg on Wednesday.
