Arsenal finished just outside of the Premier League top-four in 2021/22, narrowly missing out on a Champions League place to north London rivals, Tottenham.

The Gunners had a much better showing this time around, though, finishing the campaign in second place.

Granted, them blowing an 11-point lead over Manchester City in the title race was not great, but they have still secured Champions League football for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign, when they were dumped out of the competition by Bayern Munich in a 10-2 hammering at the Round of 16 stage.

After finishing second in the Premier League, Arsenal have secured a spot in Pot 2 of the 2023/24 group stage draw.

Arsenal cannot be drawn against other sides in this pot, meaning they will not have Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid RB Leipzig or FC Porto in their group.

Manchester United are also in Pot 2, but as no team from the same country can face one another in the groups anyway, Arsenal would avoid them, along with Manchester City and Newcastle, anyway.

Pot 1, not including Man City, currently has Sevilla, Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern Munich, PSG and Benfica – all of whom Arsenal can face.
