The Premier League matchweek 7 matches were postponed after the death of the Queen of Britain, Queen Elizabeth. To honour the long-serving monarch, football in England, Wales, Scotland and other British colonies were postponed.
However, mouthwatering action took place in the La Liga, Serie A, German Bundesliga and Ligue 1 and we saw some of the top favourites for the European Golden Boot add to their tally.
Brazil star Neymar Jr got the only goal for Paris St Germain as they fought out a 1-0 victory at the Parc De Prince.
In Spain, Karim Benzema was not in action as Real Madrid thrashed Mallorca 4-1 due to an injury, but we saw Robert Lewandowski continue in his stellar form for Barcelona.
He came off the bench and scored his sixth league goal of the season as Barca saw off Cadiz 4-1.
Despite not playing over the weekend, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland still leads the race for the golden boot. He has 10 goals and is followed by Neymar who has 8 goals, Mbappe with 7 goals, and Lewandowski with 6.
Other players who make up the top ten include – Aleksandar Mitrovic, Marko Arnautovic, Harry Kane, Florian Sotoca, Sheraldo Becker, and Iago Aspas.
