The 21-year-old has been suspended by the club since January 2022 after being charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault – charges which were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service earlier this year.

United pledged to conduct their own investigation into whether Greenwood would be able to continue at the club, but more than 150 days have now passed since their official statement.
