Newcastle broke their club-record transfer for the 22-year-old and when he played against Liverpool, Owen shared that his finishing was ‘brilliant’, as he told Premier League Productions.
At the start of the day of the game, Isak didn’t even know he was going to play because he was yet to be granted a visa to play, before it went through hours before kick-off.

Newcastle pushed for the player early in the window, before taking a step back and knocking on Real Sociedad’s door just a week before the window closed.
Callum Wilson might be the main man at St James’ Park, well, for now, but Isak might just provide him with serious competition.

“But his finishing was brilliant. This finish (debut goal) was great, then he scored a goal in the second half that was just offside and he was very clinical as well.
“He looked cool as a cucumber as a finisher and equally better in the second half.
On Isak playing alongside Wilson: “Maybe, maybe,” responded Owen. “I think the big question here is if and when Calum Wilson can get fit. He hasn’t had a history of staying fit for long. But he is a goalscorer and you can’t have enough of those in your team.
“When everything is competitive, then you need lots of goalscorers and it’s a great back-up to have.”

STRONG SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW FOR NEWCASTLE
Just like in January, Newcastle have had yet another productive and healthy transfer window and one that is resulting in them pushing forward.
Perhaps the standout capture is now Isak and one that provided the Toon Army faithful with the most excitement during this window.
Either way, whilst the Magpies weren’t planning for Europe this season, they are showing serious, serious signs that they can get over that line sooner rather than later.
