After falling down in the first half, Liverpool rallied back to win the game 2-1 at Villa Park in the lone game played on the day.
Douglas Luiz scored a terrific follow-up goal in the third minute to give the home team an early lead. It took just two minutes for Liverpool to draw level when Joel Matip scored a spectacular goal, and Sadio Mane clinched the win in the 65th minute with an assist from Luiz Diaz
