The German admitted that the Spanish goalkeeper is ‘unhappy’ with his role at the west London club and that he ‘deserves to play more’.

When Kepa moved from Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea in a stunning £72 million deal in 2018, he became the most expensive goalkeeper in history.

He was demoted to 2020 after the signing of Edouard Mendy, who quickly established himself as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers.

During his final pre-match press conference of the season, Tuchel said of Arrizabalaga, “It depends what he wants and what his plans are, but I know that we are very privileged to have Edou [Mendy] and Kepa in our squad.”
