However, the atmosphere turned tense when, following Arsenal’s last-minute equalizer, Palmer’s frustration got the better of him, resulting in him hurling a bottle in the direction of the dugout. The bottle unfortunately struck Pochettino.
In the lead-up to Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford, Pochettino addressed the incident during his Friday press conference. While the manager admitted to being “so angry” at the moment of impact, he chose to downplay the incident, laughing it off.
This gesture indicates that while such actions are not condoned, Pochettino is perhaps understanding of the heightened emotions that can flare up during intense matches.
The former Tottenham Hotspur coach said, “I was so angry (laughs) because I didn’t expect or see when it came.
