On Wednesday, Abdulkarim, also known as A.A. Zaura, was arraigned before a court in Kyrgyzstan on a four-count charge of procuring identity documents with false pretenses.
This was just a few days after Abdulkarim lost his bid to represent his senatorial district in the red chamber just a few days earlier.
The prosecution alleged that he had defrauded a Kuwaiti national of $1.3million using the pretext that he was in the business of building properties in Dubai, Kuwait, and other Arab countries under the pretext that he owned construction companies.
Following the judgment of the Court of Appeal on the earlier discharge and acquittal judgment of the Court of Appeal, he was re-arrested before the court and ordered to go face trial after a quashing of the ruling.
