The 28-year-old man, Martin Uwaifo, who confessed to being a member of Vikings secret cult confraternity, was among 15 suspects arrested recently for various crimes in Edo paraded by the State Police Command on Tuesday.

Uwaifo was arrested by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Command while on stop and search duty along Okabere Street, off Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City, in his Lexus RX350 SUV, with the fake National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) number plates.

The Command’s Spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed this Tuesday evening, while parading the suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Benin.

The suspects were arrested for offenses including murder, cultism, advance fee fraud, illegal possession of weeds suspected to be India hemp, conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

On Uwaifo, Nwabuzor said he specializes in the use of fake number plates of NANS to facilitate his heinous activities.

Also paraded was one David Ibiso (40), who was arrested for allegedly representing himself to his victim, Josephine Egharevba, as a medical doctor and a registered travel agent, and fraudulently obtained the sum of ₦11,000,000 from her to her procure travel documents to the USA.

There was also 27-year-old Clinton Iyen, a suspected cultist who was arrested following a credible information, along Igun Street, Benin City, where he and his fleeing accomplice shot and killed their victim.

It would be recalled that over 30 victims have lost their lives in resurging cases of cult-related killings in the state capital in the past few weeks.
