The former Inter Milan player gave his opinion on the winner during an interview with Planet win365.
Erling Haaland who completed the treble in his first season with Manchester City is among the top favourites to win the award.
However, the 2022 World Cup triumph is a great argument for Lionel Messi who has been voted as the MVP of the global tournament in Qatar.

In addition, Kylian Mbappe who ended the competition as the top scorer and Manchester City midfielder Rodri are among the other favourites.
However, Messi is the one who deserved it more according to Zanetti.
“I think Messi deserves it because he managed to fulfil his dream of winning the World Cup as an absolute protagonist. In my opinion, he’s been the best for several years”, he said.
As a reminder, Ballon d’or 2023 ceremony will take place on October 30 while the nominees list will be announced on September 6.
