It’s only a matter of time until Marc Cucurella’s deal is completed, as the club has already reached a personal agreement with the player as reported by Fabrizio Romano earlier today.
The right-back options to replace Azpilicueta if he leaves for Barcelona, and also to support Reece James in next season’s campaign are Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Southampton Kyle Walker-Peters.
Dumfries is the top target for now but Inter Milan is not willing to let the player leave, so as of the time of writing this article, no official bid has been made for the player yet. Kyle is a backup option, and internal discussion has been ongoing to get the player to join Chelsea before the transfer window closes.
As it seems currently, Tuchel’s interest is mainly in the defense side. He doesn’t consider signing any attacker as a priority. He is also willing to let go of some players like Timo Werner. Recall that Chelsea has only signed Raheem Sterling as an attacking force so far.
