There is less than 17 hours remaining of the transfer window and work is still required by the Blues. The west London side have made in excess of 30 deals in and out in a transformative summer but more is still to come.

The Blues have spent in the region of £400million this summer and near £1billion since the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital but there remains the opportunity for more signings on Friday.

However, the Blues will be hoping to once again to trim Mauricio Pochettino’s squad with the 51-year-old head coach preferring a group closer to 23 players and Chelsea’s first team squad sitting closer to 30.

Incoming

There is of course one remaining priority for Chelsea on Friday and that is to confirm the deal of Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

The surprise £45million signing is set to be complete on Friday after the Blues decided they wanted a versatile forward to complement their options following injuries to the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka.

It’s still possible that the Blues, as they have so often this summer, could still look to invest in the future too. A deal for Gabriel Moscardo can not be ruled out, though the 17-year-old would be unable to join immediately and there is still work to be done on an agreement between the Blues and Corinthians.

Outgoing

It will perhaps be a more fluid day in terms of outgoings, with Chelsea’s departures relying on other teams to come in.

A move for Marc Cucurella seems to have faltered, despite the Spaniard being Manchester United’s preferred target at left back.

The Red Devils wanted a January option to terminate the loan, and Cucurella featuring in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon would mean he could not play for another club should that occur.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to depart the club in an £8million deal to Nottingham Forest, though the winger still needs to complete a medical. The 22-year-old also has interest from Fulham.

Trevoh Chalobah to Bayern Munich is another deal to keep an eye on with the defender said to be open to a transfer to once again match up with Thomas Tuchel.

The German side are interested in a loan move, which would take up the Blues’ final international slot, while Chelsea would prefer a permanent offer should a move happen.

Deals remain possible for the likes of Lesley Ugochukwu, Deivid Washington, Lucas Bergstrom and Jamie Cumming, while it remains to be seen how Palmer’s arrival could impact Mason Burstow too who was set to go on loan earlier in the summer, before his first team involvement.

Likewise, whether struggles to move on Cucurella facilitates a move for Ian Maatsen, with Burnley still interested.

There also remains the possibility that Conor Gallagher is sold on transfer deadline day, despite the Blues rejecting a bid from West Ham earlier in the summer.

It could take as much as £50million for the Blues to be interested in a deal and Tottenham’s interest could depend on the future of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg….READFULL
