WooPlus is a dating app that aims to help plus-size people find love. It’s the leading app for curvy individuals to foster meaningful connections beyond judgments, and it’s launching a brand new feature to help people even more.

Curvy Ally is the latest feature on the app, and it puts plus-size women at the helm of their dating narratives. As the battle for body positivity continues, incidents like Lizzo’s recent body-shaming accusation bring to light the challenges of fatphobia.

Curvy Ally emphasizes feedback from female users, placing a premium on respect and positive interactions. This safeguard shields them from potential discrimination or emotional distress.

If men are shown to genuinely appreciate and admire curvy women, they will receive the “Curvy Ally” badge to indicate their commitment to a body positive ethos. The initiative was implemented in a bid to tackle abusive comments to female users of the app.

Male users can earn a Curvy Ally badge through respectful behaviour, unlocking weekly perks and wider profile access. Female users then have the power to decide if men can keep the badge, and even their stay or leave on the app. Any form of misbehaviour will lead to badge removal.

Neil Raman, founder and CEO of WooPlus, said: “Our mission has always entered around creating an inclusive place where individuals of all shapes and sizes thrive. With Curvy Ally, the dynamics are evolving.
