Chelsea’s first half was unimpressive as the Blues conceded two cheap goals just before the halftime whistle was blown.
Despite Raheem Sterling scoring for the Blues earlier in the game, Southampton played physical football and was able to cancel out the goal in a blink of an eye.
Chelsea created several chances in the second half, but Southampton was very solid at the back, as well as in the middle of the park. The game ended 2-1 with Southampton going home with much deserving three points.
Crystal Palace on the other hand hosted Brentford at Selhurst Park. Although they scored first, Brentford scored late to secure a point.
Fulham also hosted Brighton at the same time, with the newly promoted side beating Brighton 2-1 to secure a deserving three points.
