Ronaldo has his reasons for choosing the Champions League over the Europa League, despite the fact that many fans believe he should play in the Europa League and aim to win it because it is the only major trophy Ronaldo has never won. At the Champions League, Ronaldo wants to set a record that will never be surpassed by anybody else. He wants to keep playing so that he may strengthen his position as the player with the most points scored in the annals of the competition’s history.

At the moment, he holds the lead in scoring with 141 goals, while Messi is now in second place with 125 goals. Ronaldo’s goal is to add to this score and establish a significant lead that will not be challenged in the near future.

Another thing that drives him to participate in the Champions League is his ambition to become the player with the most goals scored in the history of the Champions League group stage competition.

The current holder of the record is Lionel Messi, who has three goals more than Ronaldo did at this point. He has set his sights on beating Messi and claiming the record for himself.
