Cristiano Ronaldo’s quick double and an assist lit up a 4-0 romp against Switzerland in Portugal’s first Nations League win of the campaign.

The ex-Juventus superstar doubled their lead, cleverly supplied by Liverpool winger Diogo Jota.

And Ronaldo’s poaching instincts swiftly made it 3-0.

Cancelo struck on 68 minutes to reward Portugal’s domination.

But Ronaldo was denied a treble once more, this time when his free-kick was brilliantly saved by Dortmund keeper Kobel.

So he had to settle for two goals that took him eight clear of the 109 by Iran’s Ali Daei in the all-time list of international scorers.
