The Portuguese star launched his channel last month and quickly smashed the world record by garnering a whopping 15million subscribers within 24 hours of its inception.

The channel’s subscriber count currently stands at 56.7m helped by regular video content being posted to the account.

So far, Ronaldo has posted clips with partner Georgina Rodriguez and sat down for an interview with ex-Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand.

In his most recent video entitled ‘The 7 questions I always wanted to ask Georgina, Ronaldo was seen laughing with his long-term partner before saying, ‘Que Miras bobo’, which means ‘what are you looking at, fool?’

The phrase holds relevance after it was famously said by Messi in a heated exchange during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Following Argentina’s quarter-final penalty-shootout victory over the Netherlands, the Inter Miami star took aim at former Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst.

It followed a bad-tempered match which saw referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz branding 17 yellow cards after multiple confrontations between opposing players.

Weghorst was the Netherlands’ saviour by coming off the bench to net twice in the dying minutes to level the score and take the game to extra time.

Despite the late scare, Messi and co held on to win a tense penalty shootout but tensions boiled over again at the end of the match.

Messi claimed Weghorst had spent much of his time on the pitch goading him and when the Argentine caught wind of the striker, he uttered the words, ‘what are you looking at, fool?’

It just so happened that the usually calm-mannered Messi was in the midst of a live television interview when he made a beeline for Weghorst, causing the clip to go viral.

Argentina went on to lift the World Cup and the incident has since been forgotten, or so we thought..

Cristiano Ronaldo reveals to Rio Ferdinand the real reason why he cried after his penalty miss at Euro 2024

The 39-year-old felt it was only right to poke fun at the jibe almost two years on, leaving some fans in hysterics.

The 2022 World Cup was expected to be the pair’s final appearance at the tournament and while Messi has hinted that this summer’s Copa America was his last major tournament for the Albiceleste, Ronaldo has kept schtum on his future plans with Portugal.

Ronaldo will be 41 at the time of the next World Cup but former teammate Pepe showed his longevity when he performed admirably at this summer’s Euros, also aged 41.

On his plans to retire, Ronaldo recently said: “When the time comes, I’ll move on. It won’t be a difficult decision to make. If I feel like I’m no longer contributing anything, I’ll be the first to leave….CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLE>>>
