This victory marks only the second time that a Danish side has defeated an English opposition, a feat not accomplished since 2006.

The Danish capital was the stage for an exhilarating match that saw both teams battling fiercely, with FC Copenhagen coming from behind twice to claim the victory.

The match started with a bang, as Manchester United took the lead within three minutes. Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s impressive play down the right flank set up Scott McTominay, who delivered a pinpoint cross for Rasmus Hojlund to tap in against his former club.

United continued their dominant start as Alejandro Garnacho’s shot led to Hojlund’s second goal, putting the visitors 2-0 ahead.

However, the game took an unexpected turn in the 42nd minute when Marcus Rashford received a red card for an apparent stamp on Elias Jelert.

FC Copenhagen capitalised on the numerical advantage, with Mohamed Elyounoussi firing in a tidy volley just before halftime. Thanks to several delays, the first half featured 13 minutes of stoppage time, during which Diogo Goncalves converted a penalty, restoring parity and making it 2-2.

The second half maintained its chaotic pace, with Manchester United showing resilience despite being a man down. A VAR-awarded penalty for a handball by Denix Vavro gave Bruno Fernandes the opportunity to put United back in front, and he did so with a powerful spot-kick into the roof of the net.

The Red Devils, with a precious lead and a player down, shifted into game management mode. FC Copenhagen, however, continued to press and found an equaliser as Lukas Lerager scored at the back post, setting the stage for a grandstand finish.
