Despite their investment, Chelsea’s offensive bite remained lacking. breaking the signing record, Fernandez nearly scored with a rocket that just missed the net before Fofana’s open-goal attempt was saved off the line by Ream.
Mitrovic’s skillful half-shot nearly fooled Kepa, and Willian’s quickness for Fulham put Chelsea’s defense to the test. Both parties depart with one point each at the end.
Prior to that draw, it looked as though Havertz would not receive enough passes to score because of the absence of Joao Felix due to his red card, but that wasn’t the case. Havertz failed to convert the chances provided to him. This is an indication that Chelsea didn’t invest in the striking area.
