It is understood that Brighton and Hove Albion have set an asking price of around £85m for Caicedo. Chelsea are confident of getting the deal done without much problems, but for now, they have to hold off sending in a bid.

This is because, generally speaking, they are trying to avoid completing big money transfers before the end of the month to avoid inflating this football year’s FFP book.

By July 1, when a fresh football year begins, signings will start happening and by then, we will expect to see the blues go hard for their priority target, Moises Caicedo as well as other targets.
