Todd Boehly also splashed the cash on future prospects Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei coupled with few defensive reinforcements after the departures of Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen.

Manchester United are second on the list, spending a total of $261.8m on 4 players whilst signing two more on loan and for free, respectively.

So far, Eriksen, Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro have all impressed for the Red Devils, with Antony and Martin Dubravka expected to follow suit.

Despite their obvious financial struggles, Barcelona (sixth) somehow signed 8 players which was made possible by selling off the fringe players and activating their economic levers.

Paris Saint Germain (seventh) had a quite transfer window by spending $162.2m only, probably because of Financial Fair Play rules while Man City (eighth) recruited the likes of Erling Braut Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Manuel Akanji for $153.4m.

Bayern Munich and Wolves occupy the last two spots having spent $151.2m and $150.3m respectively in the just concluded transfer window.
