The 31 year old football maestro and former Napoli star retained his spot in his team’s starting XI line-up having been a key figure in the squad since breaking his way into the team and he was able to deliver yet again at the peak.
Kalidou Koulibaly as the team’s captain was so clinical on the pitch of play as he exhibited some top notch leadership traits coupled with an all-round performance all of which were instrumental in the convincing victory.
The African Champions opened the scoring sheet as early as the 4th minute with a goal from Boulaye Dia to make it one nil before Sadio Mane doubled the lead for his team in the 44th minute via penalty, as he put the ball away from the spot to make it two goals to nil going into the half time break.
The tempo of the game in the second half got heated up between the two sides as they both put up some more physical, tactical and technical displays but none was able to found the back of the net as all attempts to add more to the tally of the night proved abortive as it ended two goals to nil at full time.
