With their inclusion, Mauricio Pochettino now faces the possibility of having 11 players sidelined for the upcoming match, with Raheem Sterling and Robert Sanchez also struggling due to illness.
Disasi, who had previously maintained an unblemished record of attendance before joining Chelsea, has been unable to train since the team’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United. Fernandez shares a similar fate, having also missed training sessions.
Ben Chilwell is undergoing “partial team training” and might be available for a spot on the bench. However, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, and Lesley Ugochukwu remain sidelined due to injury.
Despite Djordje Petrovic’s recent dip in form, he is expected to retain his position in goal. Malo Gusto is poised to return after being rested, forming a defensive line alongside Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, and Marc Cucurella.
In the absence of Fernandez, Moises Caicedo is likely to pair up with Conor Gallagher in midfield. Chelsea could deploy an attacking quartet consisting of Cole Palmer, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson.
Should Sterling recover from illness, he may feature in the starting lineup.
Projected Chelsea XI: Petrovic, Gusto, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Cucurella, Caicedo, Gallagher, Palmer, Mudryk, Madueke, Jackson
