There’s no gainsaying that Mykhaylo Mudryk is a great signing for Chelsea, especially with the fact that there hasn’t been any Creative Player in the team in recent times but, the Blues had more crucial hole to plug in the squad than signing a Left-winger.
Before the commencement of the Winter transfer window, Chelsea was strongly linked with Benfica Starlet Enzo Fernandez. The 21-year-old was impressive for the Argentina National team during the FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar and even managed to win the Young Player of the tournament.
Enzo Fernandez’s profile fits what Chelsea needs in the midfield right now. He’s a defensive Midfielder that can play as a deep-lying Playmaker.
The accuracy of his long-balls are outrageous. In terms of passing completions, chances created, interceptions, big chances creation and long passings, he’s better than all the current Chelsea Midfielders but the West London club didn’t want to pay the £105million that Benfica was asking for.
Chelsea draw the line when it comes to breaking the bank to sign Enzo Fernandez, which they needed in their Midfield but they were swift to agree to a deal worth £88million to sign a Player that Arsenal Wanted.
I’m not saying Mykhaylo Mudryk is a bad signing but Enzo Fernandez would have been a better signing.
