The Blues completed the signings of Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to bolster their squad.
Despite these additions, Chelsea football club are hellbent on further strengthening their attacking options and have been linked with a move for young Lille centre-forward Jonathan David.
The 22-year-old Canada International, who signed up for Lille after departing Belgium side Gent back in 2020 has been an important member of the first-team squad in recent seasons.
The young striker has been very impressive for Lille so far this new 2022/2023 football season, having already scored nine goals and created three assists in the 12 matches he has played.
His impressive performances in front of goal is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea football club and according to reports from The Sun, the Blues are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are really interested in Jonathan David and are set to battle Manchester United in the race to sign him from Lille next year.
It is believed that Chelsea manager Graham Potter wants to add more firepower to his goalscoring options and he has identified Jonathan David as a needed addition to his squad.
But then, it remains to be seen if the young Jonathan David will choose to continue his developments at Lille or he will be interested in a move to England to join Chelsea when the transfer window opens.
