The Blues are expected to pursue a couple of central defenders this summer with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving.

Kounde has been a long-term target, and The Telegraph claims that they are ready to step up their interest after last year’s failure.

The Blues agreed personal terms with the Frenchman at the beginning of last season, but failed to negotiate a suitable transfer fee.
