The news of this potential collaboration was first shared on Twitter by multiple users. According to a report by Sportsbusinessjournal.com, the agreement is currently pending Premier League approval.

A New Parent Company

Infinite Athlete is a new parent company formed after sports operating system Tempus Ex Machina acquired athlete safety engineering firm Biocore last week. Chelsea and Tempus Ex initiated a seven-year partnership last spring, aiming to enhance the fan experience, soccer analytics, and club operations.

The first fan-facing element of this collaboration was the recent introduction of the AI-powered Match View X. This innovative feature allows fans using the official club app to have a personalized streaming experience by selecting statistical and graphical overlays, player tracking data, and more.

According to Tempus Ex, there were a total of 2.7 million views, with nearly half of all fans opting to utilize the interactive features.

While Infinite Athlete and Tempus Ex will continue to market their B2B products to clubs and leagues, the expanded agreement aims to reach a broader audience, inclusive of fans who desire similar experiences from their favorite clubs.

Adding Value to the Partnership

Amy Azzi, senior director and head of sponsorships for T-Mobile, and a member of Sports Business Journal‘s Forty Under 40 class of 2022, recently shared insights in an interview with SBJ’s Ross Nethery.
