Chelsea have been active in the transfer market, yet they have not been able to compete with the best this season. The obvious reason for their poor performance, this season is:
Chelsea, lack the presence of a creative attacking midfielder. Instead of attacking midfielders, they have continued to buy more wingers.
Chelsea have signed Christopher Nkunku, and they have signed Joao Felix despite having Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling and others. It is obvious that the problem of Chelsea currently is the lack of the attacking midfielders.
Players like Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Ngolo Kante are not exceptional when it comes to supporting the attackers. It is until Chelsea bring in a creative attacking midfielder that they will become a force in the English Premier League.
