Brighton star Moises Caicedo has told Liverpool that he only wants to join Chelsea this summer.

The Reds had a £111million bid for the midfielder accepted on Thursday night, after the Blues failed to meet the asking price of the midfielder over the last few months.

Caicedo was due in the north-west on Friday to complete a medical with Liverpool, but the Ecuador international was having second thoughts over a move to Liverpool and has now made up his mind about his next move.

WHAT IS THE LATEST

Fabrizio Romano says the 21-year-old has now informed Liverpool that he only wants to join CHELSEA this transfer window.

It means the saga has taken another astonishing twist, with the ball back in Chelsea’s court if they are prepared to meet the £111 million asking fee that Liverpool have reportedly made.

But amid all the speculation – Former Chelsea star Glen Johnson says Moises Caicedo is not worth £100million.

“Caicedo is obviously a good player but it’s starting to look a little expensive,” the ex-England defender told Compare.bet.

“It’s typical, Brighton know they’re only going to get one opportunity to sell him, so obviously they’re going to try and wait for the best deal possible and maybe hope for another big club to come in with an offer to push the price up.

“I think if CHELSEA were getting Caicedo for £75m, I’d say it was a great deal.

“But if you’re spending £100m-plus, then you’re spending £30m more than you should have done.”

WE AGREE WITH JOHNSON

Caicedo is a very good midfielder – there is no doubt about that guys – but he has done nothing in the game except have a very good season for Brighton last year.

It is made the amount of money that is being offered and we just believe that he is not worth it – not yet.

WASHINGTON TO HAVE MEDICAL

Santos wonderkid Deivid Washington will undergo a medical at Chelsea in the next couple of days

CHELSEA have been very busy in the transfer market this summer and have signed a number of exciting talents that are heavily tipped to become some of the very best in the game.

And former Gremio schoolboy Washington is said to be keen on the move after the Blues have shown a real interest in getting a deal done and adding him to the squad in the future.

WHAT IS THE LATEST

The Blues have reportedly agreed personal terms over a £17million switch from Santos – with the 18-year-old expected to be instantly loaned out to Strasbourg.

And Washington is due in London in the next couple of days to undergo a medical at the club before signing a five-year deal, the Metro Says.

The contract will have the option of a 12-month extension, taking the teenager to his 25th birthday at the club.

Washington is one of those exciting talents that many Chelsea fans have not heard of – that is not being signed to make an immediate impact on the squad now and is not ready for the Blues, he is for the future.

That Chelsea board have been spending some serious money over the past few transfer windows on their plans – and although many people have not seen Washington play – the scouts have been doing their work.

There is big hopes for the lad that he could go on to become a world class player – he is showing alot of potential.

We wish we would tell you guys that he will be a very good signing, we wish we could tell you that he is good enough, but we are going to tell you that he is probably a talent that will get lost into the system because this move is coming too soon for the lad.

He does not need to leave Brazil yet and join CHELSEA – there is no point, especially as he will probably spend the next few seasons out on loan.

SLONINA DEAL ANNOUNCED

CHELSEA talent Gaga Slonina has joined Belgian Pro League side K.A.S. Eupen on a season-long loan

The 19-year-old was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2022 on a six-year deal until 2028, for a transfer fee of £12 million ($15m).

However, he continued in MLS until January 1 before linking up with the Blues but has failed to make his competitive debut with the senior team, he has played eight Premier League 2 matches for the London outfit.

He was part of Chelsea’s pre-season trip to the United States where he was given the opportunity to start against Fulham, but the decision has now been made by the club to let him leave on loan for the next 12 months.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Chelsea said in a statement: “Gaga Slonina has joined Belgian Pro League side K.A.S. Eupen on a season-long loan.

“The 19-year-old goalkeeper is yet to feature for Chelsea in competitive action but did make his international debut for the USMNT earlier this year when he started against Serbia.

“Slonina was also part of our squad for this summer’s pre-season tour of the United States and started our Premier League Summer Series victory against Fulham in Washington D.C.

“Eupen currently sit fourth in the Belgian Pro League after a win and a draw from their opening two fixtures of the season.”

Just like so many youngsters that have joined CHELSEA in the last few seasons – Slonina is now in the loan system that the Blues employ.

They have so many talents out on loan that it is very hard to keep track – but we are sure that he is a player that will be forgotten about and then moved on in a couple of seasons.

This is a good move for the lad as it will give him the opportunity to get some first team minutes – he needs to be playing if he wants to make it in the game….READFULL
