On the 57th minute, Joao Felix who was chasing the ball went into a tackle against Kenny Tete while his stud was high.

He could not reach the ball in time so he caught Tete on his chin which made the Fulham player to scream in pain while the referee, who didn’t need to consult the Video Assistant Referee, brandished a red card on the Chelsea striker.

Joao Felix now becomes the first player to be sent off for Chelsea on their Premier League debut, and the first to do so for any club since Federico Fazio did same for Tottenham Hotspurs in their English Premier league clash against Manchester City in October 2014.
