But do you know which foods are best consumed raw? Or even which foods are safe to consume raw?

Before you go start consuming an all-raw-all-the-time consuming regimen, there are a few things you might want to know about your new way of life.

Below are 7 foods that you should avoid eating raw.

1. Fresh vegetables and fruits.

Form a major portion of our everyday consumption. Whether you want to lose weight or obey a healthy lifestyle, vegetables can work with surprises in enabling you to achieve your objective. However, a common mistake that several people make is consuming some vegetables raw rather than cooked.

Some vegetables consist of natural toxins and hard-to-digest sugars that may result in gastronomical diseases. 3. Cruciferous Vegetables

Vegetables that pertain to the cabbage family like cauliflower, Brussels, broccoli, and sprouts should never be eaten raw. These vegetables contain sugar that is hard to digest. Consuming these vegetables raw may result in several gastronomical problems. Cooking the vegetables make it easy to digest the sugar contained in the vegetables. If you have a thyroid problem, avoid consuming raw cruciferous vegetables as these can worsen thyroid conditions.

4. Red Kidney Beans

Uncooked or undercooked beans comprise a large quantity of toxin, glycoprotein lectin which result in problems like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea within some hours of eating them. The harshness of the symptoms also relies on the number of toxins that have been eaten. Kidney beans have a high quantity of lectin which can result in the problems mentioned above. Soaking the beans for 5 hours can assist in destroying the toxin.

5. Mushrooms

Though mushrooms can be consumed raw, nevertheless, it is advisable to eat cooked ones to obtain more nutrients. Roasted or grilled mushrooms have more potassium content than uncooked ones. You can add stir-fried mushrooms to pasta or pizza to give a healthy twist to your favorite foods. However, ensure that you wash the mushrooms appropriately with a vegetable and fruit cleaner to ensure that you are consuming veggies that are safe for consumption.

Eggplant has a compound called solanine which limits the absorption of calcium. 7. French Beans

Another vegetable that you should never consume raw is beans. Some of the varieties of beans like hyacinth or Lima can prove dangerous when eaten raw. The variants of beans contain toxic amino acids. To remove the harmful toxin, soak the beans using a vegetable and fruit cleaner before consumption.
